When our Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam migrated from Makka to Madīna, he reconciled the two warring tribes of Madīna, that is the Aws and the Khazraj, and established peace between them. He also established a bond of brotherhood between the Muhājirīn (the Emigrants from Makka) and the Ansār (the Helping-hosts of Madīna) who helped them to settle down in Madīna. Some of the specific bonds of brotherhood he established, about which Muslim historians are generally agreed upon in their reporting are as follows:
- Himself Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam with Sayyidinā ‘Alī bin Abī Tālib
- Sayyidinā Abū Bakr as-Siddīq with Hadrat Khārija bin Zayd bin Abī Zuhayr
- Sayyidinā Hamza bin ‘Abdul Muttalib with Hadrat Zayd bin Hārithah
- Hadrat Talha bin ‘Ubaydillāh with Hadrat Ka‘b bin Mālik
- Hadrat ‘Abd ar-Rahmān bin ‘Awf with Hadrat Sa‘d bin al-Rabī‘
- Hadrat Sa‘īd bin Zayd with Hadrat Ubayy bin Ka‘b
- Hadrat Abū Hudhayfa bin ‘Utba with Hadrat ‘Abbād bin Bishr
- Hadrat Salmān al-Fārisī with Hadrat Abū ad-Dardā’
- Hadrat Bilāl bin Rabāh with Hadrat Abū Ruwayha ‘AbdAllāh bin ‘Abd al-Rahmān al-Khath‘amī
- Hadrat Hātib bin Abī Balta‘a with Hadrat ‘Uwaym bin Sā‘ida
